Everybody likes to be loved and treated with kindness and respect, and apparently this counts for wild animals as well. Although we are scared to approach them, many of them are actually kind souls in need of comfort and company.

Recently, while at their job, a group of workers stumbled upon a gorgeous little creature who was trapped in one of the trees. The linemen rushed to help the terrified baby deer.

“My buddy and I were clearing a right of way for the electric lines and came across this fawn trapped in the fall path of the tree we were about to trim,” wrote YouTube user Justin Lewis in the caption of a video he posted with the deer. “He was tangled in some thorns and was pretty shaken up after we cut him loose.”

After it was saved, the baby deer was pretty nervous and scared. However, it quickly became comfortable around the workers and approached them without any hesitation or fear of being hurt.

“So we started rubbing his belly to calm him down…. which worked a little too well, as you can see,” Lewis explained.

The animal felt instant connection with one of the workers and refused to leave his side. Whenever he tried to lay it down it would start crying. The worker’s arms felt comfortable and cozy.

“Found this baby deer and we’re moving it out of the way so it doesn’t get smashed by a tree and we started rubbing its belly and now when we go put it down it freaks out until we start rubbings its belly again,” someone off camera says in the video.

“He’s spoiled we have spoiled a baby deer,” says someone in the video.

Although both the deer and the man enjoyed each other’s company, it was about time for the fawn to reunite with its mother who was eagerly waiting for her baby.

“He followed us around the job site like a lost puppy for about an hour until I noticed a doe watching us from the hillside,” Lewis write in the caption. “Assuming this was his mother, I carried him about halfway up the hill while she watched attentively. I sat him down, he ran straight to her, and they walked off together.”

It’s pretty unusual for an animal like this to get so close to a human, but we are glad it did because it really made our day!
