He had been found chained up…Dogs are part of our families and should not be kept chained up outside. Unfortunately, there are owners who do not share this point of view and keep their dogs chained up outside, even in harsh weather conditions. At just a year old, a black cocker-spaniel mix named Buster knew nothing but loneliness and was always outside. Buster was so desperate to escape that he managed to slip out of his collar and ran away, only to be found and brought back.

Rescued Dog
His owner did not want Buster to escape again, so he tied a metal chain around Buster’s neck. Unfortunately, as Buster grew and the chain’s exposure to various weather conditions, the metal chain eventually became so rusty that it became embedded into his skin. This caused a major infection on Buster’s neck and endangered his life. Thankfully, some PETA workers soon took notice of Buster and after seeing the dog’s poor condition, demanded that his owner surrender Buster to them.
Buster’s owner had no choice but to surrender him to the PETA, where the workers provided Buster with some much-deserved TLC and medical treatment. Not long after, Buster has healed from his wounds, so it was time to look for a forever home for him. A couple named Doris and Nile Gomez soon saw Buster’s photo and his story in their local Virginia newspaper. The couple fell in love with Buster at first sight and quickly contacted the PETA to adopt Rescued Dog.
Their adoption request was successful and Buster was soon brought to the couple’s home on his adoption day. Buster was immediately greeted at the door by Doris, who proceeded to hug him. The couple stated that he will never be lonely again and will have plenty of love, which is what he deserves to have. Buster will now have a warm bed to sleep on at night and plenty of toys to play with, instead of being chained up outside.
