The Camp Fire that blazed through Paradise, California has been completely contained, but not before destroying the entire town. People are slowly starting to return to the devastated and charred area. Some are coming back to find they have lost everything, while others are experiencing miracles.

Scared Horse

The recent fires spread at a rapid rate and made it impossible for some people to return to their homes to save their pets. Many hoped that somehow their animals were safe or managed to escape. Although many lost their lives, there are miracle stories happening everyday. One of a loyal dog waiting at the destroyed area that used to be home. While cats are reappearing and come running when their family returns to the area.

Scared Horse

One story touched the hearts of many when Officer Randy Law went out of his way to help a scared horse. A photo was posted on Facebook of the courageous officer holding the beautiful horse while he grazed on a patch of grass. The air quality was poor but the officer remained with the horse until help arrived.

One of many groups created on Facebook to post lost and found pets featured Twinkie, the horse. The horse’s owner was not able to return home when the fire started. A post with a picture of the horse asking anyone who may have seen it, led to the happy reunion. Twinkie was in good hands until he was reunited with his owner.

Even though the fires has dissipated, the little acts of kindness have not. People going out of their way to rescue animals helps restore our faith in mankind. Hopefully, many more happy reunions will happen as people start to return and pets are found.
