Rescue dogs are often former stray dogs themselves and would know how life on the streets was like. For an eight year old rescue dog named Rose, she was willing to do her best to help another dog in need. Rose was a former stray herself, who was found two years ago by DFW Rescue Me. She was injured and emaciated, even fearing human contact. She was eventually placed in a forever home and later became a rescue dog.

In Dallas, Texas, a group of rescuers from DFW Rescue Me had found an eight month old Mastiff puppy on the streets. The puppy, named Brady, was found severely emaciated and was too weak to lift his head. Brady’s condition was alarming, and the rescuers knew that he would not survive for long if he did not receive any medical help.

Brady was also anemic and suffered from a severe case of mange, along with parasites. The staff knew that without a blood transfusion, Brady would not even make it past his first night off the streets. This is when Rose came to his rescue.

Rose donated her blood to Brady for a period of two days to help him recover. During the first few days, Brady started to interact with people and showed interest in his new environment. His behavior gave hope to the rescuers, who were more convinced that Brady would survive.

Brady and Rose quickly became fast friends not long after their first meeting and have been staying close to one another ever since. According to Dennis Moore, Rose’s owner, Rose acted like a mother to Brady and welcomed him into her home. Brady is currently living in his foster home with Rose until he is healthy enough to be adopted into his forever home.
