The founder of Hope for Paws, Eldad Hagar, and his crew have never rejected any of the calls they receive for helping animals in need. These people are so committed to saving the life of the poor souls wandering the streets hurt and undernourished that they prove to be our heroes with every passing day.
The recent story we heard from them is about a tiny dog found lying on the sidewalk. Eldad and the longtime shelter rescuer Loreta Frankonyte rushed to the place where they were told the dog was. All they wanted to do is make the dog come to them so that they could bring it at the vet’s and make sure it gets the most appropriate care.
Once they spotted the pup, they realized the condition it was in was even worse than what they thought. It was obvious life wasn’t easy for the poor creature.
It is not always easy to approach the stray dogs because most of them are distrustful of humans and are afraid to let anyone near them. However, the rescuers do their best to regain the dogs’ trust by offering love and kindness, and some juicy treats.
This particular stray dog named Cindy Lou had been so starved for affection that it barely took more than the promise of a cheeseburger to get her to approach her rescuers.
They managed to trap the stray pup who didn’t fight against and let them slip on a leash.
The dog was taken at the vet’s and was given a hot bath that she enjoyed. This dog realized she was now at a safe place and started socializing with those around her. She is now placed at a foster home, but we all hope her forever parents are somewhere waiting for this sweet dog to enrich their life.
