It’s astounding what a pinch of kindness offered in the right time can do to someone who’s experiencing a rough time. Bentley is an adorable 9-month-old pot-bellied pig who didn’t have it easy. When the founder of the EARTH Animal Sanctuary found him, doctors were clear that the chances of survival for this sweet piggy were just under 10%, but Corine DiLorenzo didn’t even think on giving up on him.

“I refused to give up on him, and he beat all the odds. His fighting spirit got him through the meningitis, which left him blind.”

Poor Bentley was diagnosed with a rare bacterial meningitis, but thanks to the surgical procedures he had undergone, he is now feeling better.

The process of recovery is successful because the piggy is a real warrior, but also because of DiLorenzo’s remarkable approach. She sings Bentley lullabies and he simply enjoys.

“To a tiny little blind pig, the hospital noises can be very scary, so on my trips to see him every day, I sing to him to comfort him and reassure him that he is loved and that everything is going to be OK. Like all pigs, Bentley is incredibly intelligent and affectionate, and responds to love just like any human child would,” she wrote. “Every day, Bentley teaches me to be strong and never to give up.”

Isn’t this unusually beautiful story worth sharing with the rest of the world?
