Senior dog wouldn’t leave house fire until his human was rescued

As everyone knows, dogs are some of the most loyal creatures to walk the planet. This is especially true of dogs that have become attached to their humans. Stories like these remind us that it is important to never take our animals for granted. After all, they are the ones who will be there for us through thick and thin. There is much to be learned from this story, in fact.

Children are able to find out more about the importance of caring for other living creatures. Adults who are overly distracted and do not give their pets the proper affection may also want to change their ways after reading this one. Che is a very special dog who managed to save their owner’s life. Who knew that a pet could serve as the difference between life and death?

Che may have been 14 years old when this story took place but he is the furthest thing from a grumpy old man. While most would expect animals to put themselves first in a pressure-packed situation, Che was not willing to do so. A fire broke out one night and he was not going to allow his owner to be left behind. He would not abandon her, no matter what took place.

If not for his willingness to help out, who knows what may have happened to his mother? By the time the firefighters made their way to the property, they said that the dog and owner were passed out on the ground. From the looks of it, Che had even positioned himself to block the flames. What an unbelievably selfless act. We are wiping away the tears as we speak.

This is one dog that was not going to let any harm come to their owner. Thanks to his efforts, he and his owner are still very much alive and well today. Che’s heroic actions definitely deserve a great deal of kudos. We hope that this owner was willing to provide him with plenty of treats and belly rubs for literally saving their life.

We got this picture and an update on Che (with his new brother) today! “He is still coughing a bit but otherwise not bad. But we are happy with his progress.” #hero #firedog

If you loved this story as much as we did, do not hesitate to pass it along. Che’s actions on this fateful night were the difference between living and dying. Don’t make the mistake of waiting for a worst case scenario before showing love to your pet, though. Give your four-legged friend their flowers while they can still smell them.
