Husky Dog Loves Being A Surrogate Mom To Homeless Kittens

Lilo is a unique Husky dog who loves to nurse and take care of homeless animals, especially kittens. That’s the reason why she decided to become a surrogate mom to many rescue kittens her family brings in.

Huskies are known for their intense prey drive, so it’s uncommon for the breed to be friendly with small animals. However, unlike other huskies, Lilo is very sweet and gentle with kittens as if they are her own puppies.

Rosie is one of her babies, who was originally found homeless on the street at about 2 weeks old. The little kitten was so weak and sick that she couldn’t take more than a few steps without becoming breathless.

“She almost did not make it through the first night…Even with round the clock care. She was lethargic and limp. So we decided to go out on a limb and let her cuddle extensively with Lilo,” Lilo’s family says on Instagram.

Thankfully, the plan worked, and the two fell in love with each other immediately. Lilo kept Rosie under her wing and cared for her all night. It was clear that Rosie pulled through, in part because of Lilo’s love and care.

Although Lilo raises her own huskies with kittens and they get along well, she still watches them very carefully. Look at this perfect pack! What an adorable pack!

“A mother love overcomes all limitations, even species limitations!”
