11-Years-Old Dog Says His Final Goodbyes To His Brothers — Before Getting Put Down

Dog lovers all over the world were touched by a single post on Reddit that contained pictures of an 11-years-old dog named Sef. He was caught on camera, saying his final goodbyes to his family. Rawtashk, his owner and Reddit uder, posted the picture of his three Belgian Malinois dogs, kissing each other just before Sef would be taken aside to be put to sleep and cross the rainbow bridge.

Sef’s owner’s post read: “Our old boy is getting put down today. Somehow our other two seem to know – and they’ve been saying goodbye all morning.”

In order to accompany Sef in his final moments, the family had previously arranged for a house visit with a veterinarian. “You know you have a good boy when your vet doesn’t normally do at-home euthanasia,” he remarked. “But she volunteers to come out and do it for Sef.”

The morning the veterinarian was expected, Rhonin and Jaina, the other two dogs, somehow knew that something was off. All morning while waiting for the vet to arrive, they went over to Sef and tenderly nuzzled him.

Rawtashk ends his post with the following paragraph: “I love you, Sef. You were the best boy I could have ever asked for. I would have carried you forever, had I been able to, but it wasn’t fair for you.” Dog lovers all around the world showed their support for the family, even until Sef was cremated. His ashes were placed on the mantle, right next to the remains of the family’s very first canine.

Even today, the two remaining dogs in the family are still mourning their brother Sef – they would still expect Sef to show up, sniffing around and sitting near the places that would carry his scent. Rest in peace, Sef.
